Brother John Farmer was born in Asheville, North Carolina on August 30th, 1950 to the late George L. Farmer Jr. and Eileen Ashby Farmer. Although he was raised in NC his parents were both born in Colorado.

Brother John Farmer began his Masonic journey in Burns Lodge 41 where he has served two terms as Worshipful Master. Service to the Grand Lodge began in 1999 with appointment by Grand Master Gose as Education Councilor for District Number 1. Brother John served in this capacity until his appointment as Junior Grand Steward in the Grand Lodge progressive line by Grand Master Gary Skillern in 2003. He has served on numerous committees and is the present President of the Board for the Grand Lodge of A.F. & A. M. Endowment Fund Corporation.

Brother John is a Past President of Cheyenne Chapter No. 5 of National Sojourners and a Past Commander of Alexander Hamilton Camp No. 5 of the Heroes of ’76. He is Past Excellent High Priest of Wyoming Chapter No. 1 Royal Arch Masons, Past Illustrious Master of King Solomon Council No. 8 Cryptic Masons of Wyoming, and Past Eminent Commander of Wyoming Commandry No. 1 Knights Templar of Wyoming. Most Eminent Grand High Priest Lloyd K. Hashimoto appointed him to the Grand Royal Arch Masons officer line in 2009. He is a member of Equality York Rite College # 92, Agnus Dei Tabernacle XLIV Holy Royal Arch Knights Templar Priests, Priory No. 44 Knights of the York Cross of Honor, Thrice Illustrious Masters of Wyoming, and the Red Cross of Constantine and Appendant Bodies Eusebius Conclave. He is a life member of Kincora Council No. 8 Masons of the United States.

John L. Farmer

Brother John is an active Scottish Rite Mason where he is Co-Director of Work and serves on the Deputy’s Advisory Council for the Cheyenne Valley. He was invested as a KCCH in 2003 and was coroneted as an Inspector General Honorary 33 degree in 2009. Brother Farmer is a cast member in the 4th, 14th, 15th, 29th, and 32nd Degrees. He is the Director of the 15th Degree and Co-Director of the 32nd Degree. He is currently serving as an officer in the Albert Pike Chapter of Rose Croix, Cheyenne Council of Kadosh and Wyoming Consistory No. 1. He also serves in the cast for the Extinguishing of Lights Ceremony for the Scottish Rite Ceremony of Remembrance and Renewal. He is a charter member of the Knights of Saint Andrew, Valley of Cheyenne.

Brother John served in the United States Air Force for 27 years retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant in the duty position of Maintenance Superintendent for the20th Air Force. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management Human Resources and an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Electronic Systems Technology.

Brother John and his wife Janet have a wonderful family; Sarah, Abigail, Marcus, Matthew and his wife Janice, and Grandson Isaac.
